I haven't blogged for a while, but it is FRC season now and we are all excited and brainstorming for this year's game Logomotion. I drew a sketch that Eddie made on paper and turned it to a 3D CAD model on sketchup. Now we are ordering parts that we think we might use for our arm. We are thinking of 6 wheel drive for the robot. I can't to build it and see it in action.

Today Eddie, Liz, Rangel, Dillon, and I went to University of Public Schools to mentor. We were surprised on how far they had gotten. They can do the missions they wanted to do now. They're are now just trying to perfect the program. We told them to work on the rest on the missions so they can score better in the game. I also finished another drawing another NURC prop on sketchup so the video should be coming out soon.

November 2, 2010
Finished another prop so that is a total of five finished sketchup models. Now I have to keep on drawing the rest of the props. Ledge and I are hoping to have the video and sketchup models done on Friday so we can show the world this year's NURC mission.
November 1, 2010
Today I drew the crank prop for NURC. I told Karol and Hugo that I had finished 4 props so they could use them for their video. I started working on putting different props together to illustrate how it is going to be at the competition.
October 29, 2010
Today I found out that I wasn't finished with the sketchup models that there were more to be drawn. I was surprised because everything that had been built I had sketched, but apparently they haven't built it yet. Now I have to draw props that aren't even built so I will try and finish as fast as I can so we can get this year's NURC mission video done.
October 28, 2010
Today a group of people went to Madison Park and others went to Alhambra. I went to Madison Park and talked to people. There were two boys that were asking a lot of questions about the robot and I answered them the best I could. Then there was this man that didn't know how to speak English so I explained everything to him in Spanish and he was amazed and proud of us. Oscar wasn't working at 100% so we didn't drive it around we just kicked the soccer ball every now and then. Overall I think it went pretty well. After it was over we packed up and went to drop off everything at school.

Elizabeth, Dillon and I have finished the robot. Now we are going to give it to the Electrical Chicks so they can do the electrical stuff on it.
September 2, 2010
Dillon, Elizabeth and I have been supervising the construction of the new robot. So far we have built and bolted the frame together. We have mounted the two traction wheels in the middle of the robot. We mounted 3 omni wheels and we have 1 left. We replaced the two sides of C-Channel with angle pieces in order to see the wheel to make the robot look cool.
August 31, 2010
Today there was a flood in the Robotics Room and in the Vault. Everyone who was there was helping out moving the stuff out of the room and filling buckets with the water from the flood and dumping them out. Everyone "bonded" more that day because everyone was helping everybody.
Falcon Retreat
At the Falcon Retreat it was starting as good day with the hike and everything, but as we were heading back John's truck flipped over ejecting Mike and David out of the truck. That ruined everything for that day. The next day we saw "The Matrix" and they explained all the hints references in the movie to us and how it applies to us. After watching the movie we headed back home.

June 18, 2010 (Stanford)
It is our last day here at California so we took a nature hike around the guest house which was led by Mrs.Smith. She explained the different trees and flowers to us. She also told us about the pine cones. Then we went to a BBQ they had at the place we were staying at. We ate ribs, sausages, chicken, rice, beans, and homemade vanilla ice cream. There was also a raffle, but unfortunately we didn't win anything. We called the Super Shuttle service to take us to the airport. We went through the routine once again of the check-in's. Then we waited until our plane arrived. We boarded and headed back home. This trip was not only fun, but also informative I just wanted to thank the Arthur M. Blank Foundation for setting this trip up for us.
June 17, 2010 (Stanford)
Today we took the Caltrain to San Francisco where we were hoping we could go to the Fisherman's Wharf and see the famous Golden Gate Bridge. Everything was going according to plan, but then we took the wrong trolley going the opposite direction we didn't realize this until it was the last stop and we were at the beach. This mistake at least wasn't all that bad because Ramon and I wrote our Falcon Robotics 842 logo on the beach. We got to see the ocean and it was fantastic. We picked up some sand dollars while we were there. Then we headed back to our original destination and took the right trolley. After a long trip we arrived, but we were starving so we ate at small restaurant were we chose a Beef Chili Bean or Clam Chowder in a sourdough bowl-like shaped bread. It was very tasteful we our classic Coke. Then we picked up some souvenirs and went to a WW2 submarine ship. We got to see where they slept and all of the inside of the sub it was a lot of fun. Then we went to the end of the deck to see the Golden Gate Bridge from afar and we did it was huge! I also had the opportunity to see a group of sea lions just taking a sun bath which was so cool. Then we headed back to the Stanford guest house by taking the subway, Caltrain, and Muni. We ordered Chinese food and read our fortune from the cookie and went back to our rooms to sleep.
June 16, 2010 (Stanford)
On our way to Stanford we met up at the airport at 6:00 in the morning. Most of us were tired and sleepy we went through the routine of checking in our bags and then the security check in. We were all hungry because none of us had ate breakfast so we decided to go to Wendy's. After a tasty sandwhich we boarded our plane to San Jose. We arrived at the San Jose Airport and went to baggage claim to pick up our bags then we took the Super Shuttle service to take us to the Stanford Guest house. We put all our luggage in one room and went to our Stanford tour. The admission counselor told us exactly what we needed to know in order to get into Stanford. Then our tour guide showed us around campus all the different schools and buildings. We got an enourmous amount of informaton during these hours. We then went to a Mediterranean restaurant and I ate a Beef Kabbab which was incredibly delicous. After we were all finished eating we headed back to the Stanford Guest House to get our rooms and settle in. This day was awesome and informative.
NURC
We got a new electrical sytem setup which is the button box then we put everything together and passed the safety inspection test. After that we went to qualify and we did. Then we went to eat lunch because we were hungry. I was having so much fun. Everything was cool and I got to see a 3d printer. Then we got our official time for the real competition. Our time came and we were there but our view was blurry because some of the things we put to make it water tight got in the camera. We were able to locate the square nessie bait but we decided to pull tether because we were lost and we cancelled out our points. Then the funniest thing happened dillon said that he saw "fishies" in the pool and we started to laugh. The thing that I really liked about NURC was that I learned a lot about underwater rov's and that it was awesome.
May 27, 2010
Today I worked on our Freshmen NURC ROV. Found the problem and fixed it but somehow they still don't work so we may have to do it all over again. finished mounting motors stable and the light.
May 26,2010
